Design ideas  The pupils worked with the main theme of „water“, creating spatial collages and developing the sub-themes of deep sea, reef, and water surface for the design of the building’s three levels. Lounge corners A special sound-absorbing lounge corner was designed for each class. The children created pictures and objects with water related themes which were then graphically rendered and placed on the walls of the lounge corners. Accoustics Long, sound-absorbing pillows were installed in the middle of the main stairwell. The pillows also function as pin boards that, over time, can be filled with decorations. “Mascots” constructed from glass beads self-made by the children. Light Reflectors Inspired by an idea of one of the pupils, frames were installed in front of a number of windows to allow “the sun to project glistening water onto the floor”. Accordingly, the children decorated the frames themselves with glass stones.
