A holistic approach to ecological
carbon neutral design the cabin is
constructed manually preferably out of recycled materials, serviced
by its harvested own water and wood stove. The cycle of the waterworks
determines the architecture: Rainwater is collected from the upper roof
of the cabin, filtered twice to 5 microns and stored in the loft’s waterbed
“bladder”. From this storage point it is led into the lower end of the
stoves’ heat exchangers and as the water is heated, rises and circulates
into the hot water tanks. From the tops of the tanks it begins its ramp
down along the spine – providing “take offs” for the sink and shower-turns
and continues ramping down back to the exchangers. It is then reheated
and re-circulated. In effect, it rains, one puts wood into the stove(s)
and hot water is provided. |
